Meet Drew Puzia

While playing in rock bands in Los Angeles in the 80’s I became drawn to the mixing side of all my bands music. I was the guy they said “has an ear for it.”  Never in my life did I ever think I would do mixing & mastering professionally. As the interest grew I decided to find out more about this craft. I attended two years at the prestigious Berklee College of Music to learn more. One day I saw an advertisment for a mixing contest hosted by PureMix.com. I never entered a contest for mixing and thought it would be fun. When I got the notice for taking first place I was overjoyed. There was over 2,800 submissions and the Judges were some of the worlds top professional Mixing Engineers. Andrew Scheps, Michael Brauer, Greg Wells, Tony Maserati. The prize was a new Universal Audio apollo x8 Interface for mixing.  

I love working with people, and I love the challenge of creating a sonic bliss too, so this as a profession was a natural fit for me.​ I’ve spent more than 20 years learning how to make records sound bigger, clearer, deeper and more emotionally engaging. But the goal isn’t to make every song sound like my record. It’s to understand what the artist is trying to say and make that vision come through. ​​​
