What Mastering Gear Do I Use?

MusicMixPros audio mixing and mastering services studio.

When I began my mixing & mastering journey, I relied on extensive racks of costly outboard audio gear that demanded constant maintenance. Today I’ve transformed my setup into a more efficient and effective "mixing in the box" system, utilizing high-performance technology. This modern approach not only reduces costs but also allows me to deliver that big studio sound to my clients at incredibly competitive rates, with a simple to use affordable online mixing and mastering service!

My Full Mastering Chain:

Kirchoff EQ - Corrective EQ

FabFilter Pro Q4 - Surgical EQ

Weiss DS1-MK3 - Transparent Compressor

MB Howies 179 - Warmth & Glue Compressor

AMEK Mastering Compressor - Controlled Compressor

Relab Maselec MEA - 2 - Musical EQ

Softube Bus Processor 670 - Character/Compressor

Gullfoss Master - Spectral Balance EQ

SPL PQ - Final Musical/Character EQ

Weiss Deess - De-Esser - Compressor

Oeksound Soothe3 - Resonance Control

TOMO Lisa - Analog Polish/Broad Tonal EQ

SPL Vitalizer- Depth/Width Control

Weiss EQ1 - Finishing EQ

Dangerous BAX EQ - Finishing EQ *Alt

Weiss MM1 - Loudness Limiter

Izotope Ozone 11 Maximizer - Final Limiter

FabFilter L2- Limiter - Peak Limiting/Final Limiter

I never use all of these for every song, especially at once, I usually only four to six. But, I love having them at my fingertips when needed, and sometimes I may grab another piece of gear for a specific need.  But, basically all my professional music mixing projects run through this chain.

Relab Maselec MEA - 2 - Musical EQ

MB Howies 179 - Warmth & Glue Compressor

Softube Bus Processor 670 - Character/Compressor
